Matt's vacation

Matt had a week off at the end of June.  We had big things going on both weekends of his vacation, so we spent the rest of the week here at home, working on projects, getting stuff done, and having fun as a whole family.

Japanese Garden at FMG

popsicles!
more trips to Home Depot...all the wood for the bookcases downstairs!

On Friday, my brother, Bryan, and his girlfriend, Lisa, were in town.  We took Kate to Michigan's Adventure and it was a blast.  She had so much fun, and it was really fun to watch her do new things and giggle and laugh.  We let Kate skip her nap that day, so by the time we left (just after 4:00), she was totally wiped out.  She was asleep within 5 minutes.

My cousin, Scott, got married in Muskegon on Saturday.  It was a perfect day and so much fun.  Special thanks to Tessa and Justin for babysitting our girls so we could stay out late!

On Sunday night, we had a big cookout at my parent's house for everyone to see Bryan - and meet Lisa.  The kids had a lot of fun playing together, and it was fun to catch up with all the aunts and uncles that we don't see as often any more.

wouldn't be a Kadzban get-together without something crazy, like shooting off fireworks

June in a nutshell

Here's the rest of our June, mostly in pictures.  Let's be honest, that's all people really want to see anyway:)

Kate's teaching Livvy about flower buds

chalk paint

four wheeler at the farm!
Uncle Paul's sprayer
I think she's going to be a farmer:)

Liv decided that she was ready to eat oatmeal all by herself
pretty messy, but super cute to watch:)

zoo trip with friends (Kate was a little cranky that day)
Liv is learning all about tea parties

cutie pies after baths

strawberry picking!

We had a lot of fun picking strawberries this year.  Kate actually helped a lot, and Liv didn't cry the whole time this year, so that was a big bonus:)

Liv ate a LOT of strawberries while we were picking.  Kate ate a LOT after we finished picking.  I don't know what I would have done without my mom there to help.  She's a saint.

look at those red mouths!

Sleepover with Jonah!

The last weekend of May (holy cow, I'm behind!), our friends came for a visit.  Brandon was one of Matt's roommates at Hope and Becca was one of mine.  We haven't seen them since last summer, before they moved to Kansas for Brandon's residency, so it was really fun to catch up.  The Firehouse guys went up north for a weekend of "man time" and we stayed here in GR.

They arrived mid-day on Thursday, and all four kids napped at the same time that afternoon.  Do you even know how magical that is?

Friday we played at our house and Sarah came to join us for dinner that night with her two kids.

Saturday morning we got as many Casa girls together as we could for play time at Sarah's house.  We missed Em and Lissa, but everyone else was here:)

Jonah and Kate's parade

playing games on Auntie Mandy's phone
lots of kiddos with Auntie Mandy and Auntie Tisa

Kate kept calling this our sleepover with Jonah since he was sleeping at our house.  The two of them were really funny together; each day they would start out loving each other and play together really well, and about mid/late afternoon, they would start to get on each other's nerves.  Cora and Liv just rolled with it.

So much fun to be with friends!
