ArtPrize 2012

For a couple of years now, the end of September has signaled ArtPrize here in Grand Rapids.  It's such a fun time to be downtown; so many people out and enjoying the art, it really makes the city feel alive.  I love it.

I got to check things out twice this year, once with my friend Steph and her son Eli on a Thursday morning and once on a Tuesday night after Matt finished work for the day.  We saw so much cool stuff and such great talent.  I can't believe people come from other states and other countries for ArtPrize, but it's pretty cool.

sushi

We had sushi with Andy and Sam on Sunday night.  The sushi chef was kind enough to bring out a few crab sticks for our little lady, and (surprise) she liked it!

We did a lot during the month of September and not all the pictures made it to the blog, so since it's now October, here's a quick glimpse of our last month...

In September we also went for lots of walks and runs and bike rides.  We've seen a lot of my good friend Steph and her son Eli, and traveled quite a bit.  Matt has been working like crazy on the peds floors and in the NICU.  My Side By Side group started back up for the fall.  Oh, and Matt started the application process for his hematology/oncology fellowship.  Whew! It's been quite a month.

I often walk past the playground in our neighborhood when Kate and I are out and about, but I stopped last week to try her out in the swing.  As with most things, she loved it! She thinks it's especially funny when you reach out to grab her sweet little hands or feet or knees when she comes towards you.  We took daddy back after work one night and took some pictures:)
