FUN with Friends

We had lunch at Panera Bread and playtime with Allison and Haven a few weeks ago...

tummy time together
Kate loves to hold hands
the stare down:)
The girls are two months apart and we can't wait for them to get a little older and actually play together.  They're going to be great friends!

And last week we had a play date with Steph and Eli...

such a sweetheart!

Eli is three months (almost to the day) younger than Kate, but they weigh almost the same and are getting pretty close in size! These two will be spending a lot of time together:)

Tigers Opening Day

Matt says you have to start them young, so I let Kate watch two innings of the Tigers on opening day.  She would watch TV all day if I let her, so I never do, but thought this was an ok exception.

she'll be ready to pick her Tiger by next season
she obviously likes baseball:)

spring flowers

Tulips to be exact.  I love the tulips in Holland at Tulip Time, but since we've had such a warm spring, most of them are already in full bloom (or even past that).

Matt had last weekend off (yes, the whole thing - Saturday AND Sunday!), so we took advantage of the weather and took a little trip out to Holland.  I couldn't wait to show Kate the tulips and take pictures of them.  I took almost 200 pictures that day - poor Kate, she can't do anything without being paparazzi'd by her mom! An extra special added bonus was getting to see my brother for a little bit:)

tulips everywhere! this is my favorite spot:)

Uncle Andy
Thank you God for a beautiful day with my family, for spring, and for the reminder that you make us new each and every day!

sitting pretty

Look at her sitting up so well!

spring is for soccer

To continue celebrating Kate's 5 month birthday, we had a little outing to Andy and Sam's soccer tournament at Calvin.  A few of the seminaries in town played on a Saturday afternoon and it was fun to watch them show off their skills.

5 months...is almost 6 months...which is half of a year!

My goodness, time is going fast! We celebrated Kate's 5 month birthday this past Saturday.  Here are her 5 month pictures...

one guess who she's smiling at...daddy:)
i've never seen her make this face before, but thought it was too funny not to share!

all smiles

i LOVE those eyes

melts my heart

happy girl

a common look for Kate...sucking on her fingers:)

If I could freeze her right now, at 5 months, I think I would be happy forever.  This is such a fun age! She is so much more aware of her surroundings and is so curious to look at everything (and put everything in her mouth).  She smiles all the time and loves to play and make her cute, little noises.  Happy 5 Month Birthday, Kate!
