Kate's photography skills

Kate LOVES to take pictures.  She's always asking to use my phone or my camera to capture things.  Most of them are totally random, like someone's feet, or a cup on the table.  But this day, she caught a couple cute ones.  Enjoy:)

Liv took this one

Later that day, it was nice enough to play outside without coats on.  Yes, it was the first week of November.  Yes, I was loving it!

Happy Halloween!

Matt had to work the Halloween weekend, but we tried to enjoy it as much as we could anyway.  Kate dressed up as Elsa this year, and Olivia was a fishy.  They were so adorable.  Liv walked around all day pointing at Kate and saying, "Elsa" and then pointing at her tummy and saying, "fishy".  When it came time to actually go out and trick or treat, the weather was not very nice.  We had to wear coats and use umbrellas, but the girls still had fun.  We stuck to our street, and had hot chocolate as soon as we got home:)

Pumpkins!

We never actually carved our pumpkins last year, so we wanted to make sure we did it this year.  Liv couldn't have cared less about the process, but Kate really enjoyed it.  She helped Daddy draw the face she wanted with a pen, and then helped cut out the pieces all by herself.  She was proud - so were we! She's growing up too fast!

Kate wanted hers to look like Papa Bear's pumpkin in
the Berenstein Bear's Trick or Treat book:)

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

We celebrated with presents after work and dinner out.  We sure do love this guy! Happy 32nd birthday to my best friend and love.  I'm so thankful for you!

cheers!

Matt's October vacation

Matt took a week off at the beginning of October and we soaked up the fall weather as a family.  We went to the apple orchard, got lots of projects done, played like crazy, and walked around ArtPrize for a day.  We didn't actually get to see the piece that won this year (something about a long line and a huge double stroller and two wiggly, impatient girls...), but we got to see a lot of really beautiful art.

Later in the week, Matt and I went up north for a night away without the girls.  It was so nice and so refreshing to spend time alone together.  We drove up to Boyne, did the "Tunnel of Trees" drive, ate yummy food, went to the movies, slept in, and got to talk to each other without being interrupted every few minutes:)

We also took our annual trip to Orchard Hill Farms, where the girls got to feed and pet their animals, go on a hay ride, and eat donuts:)

I couldn't be more thankful for this time together.

Applesauce Day!

The first weekend in October, we headed down to the farm to make our annual applesauce stash, and to hang out during harvest.  Matt loves fall and harvest, and his love is quickly spreading to Kate.  She really likes riding in the combine with Grandpa:)
