SMILES!

Nope, every day is not easy.  Truth be told, most days are really hard, and Matt is in a tough season at work right now, so he hasn't been home much.  But, look at these smiles.  They melt my heart and make it all so worth it.  I love these kiddos so very much!

zoo day!

We spent a fun morning at JBZ with our Side By Side friends.  The weather was a little cooler, which was actually really nice.  The girls had so much fun seeing the animals, and one of the other girls even had extra passes for the funicular, so we got to ride it down after we saw the tigers.  I'm so thankful for this time with friends!

Memorial Day weekend

Kate finished soccer (game 7) the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.  On a scale of 1 to 10, I think she'd give soccer a 5.  She usually had fun once she was playing, but she wasn't a fan of all the boys and kept telling us she got too tired running around so much.  We're proud of her for sticking it out and finishing the season even though she didn't want to.

On Sunday afternoon, Matt and I went to see Phantom of the Opera downtown.  It was my birthday gift from him and it was so fun.  Neither of us had seen it before, and the show was really good.  Thanks to my mom and dad for babysitting!

happy birthday to me!
On Monday morning, we went to the Jenison Memorial Day parade.  We met my parents and my cousin, Mike, and his family there.  It's become sort of a tradition, and that kids love it.  This year was extra long because of the elections, but Kate was SUPER excited about all of her candy:) After the parade, we spent the rest of the day at my parent's house.  We opened the pool and grilled out.  Super fun day.  Super fun weekend.

Fun Friday

We spent the Friday morning of Memorial Day weekend with my mom at the Children's Garden at FMG...the girls loved the sailboats, story time and the sand box.  Will slept and nursed and slept again.

After naps, we did the sprinkler in the backyard, and the girls couldn't have been happier.  They are getting so creative and (usually) have fun playing together.  Will and I hung out on the deck where it was shady:)

Will - 2 Months

Since today is Will's three month birthday, I should probably get around to posting his two month photos! Oops.  Life with three little ones, I guess.

At two months, Will is much more aware of his surroundings.  He likes to sit up and look around.  He is a big fan of the swing (thanks for letting us borrow it, Mike and Haley), and is starting to hang out on his play mat once in a while.  When you're holding him, which he definitely prefers, he wants to be held out so he can see the world.  He's a great eater.  Discovered his hands and feet this month and started to smile.  Still up 2-4 times per night.  But, man is he cute.

Without further ado, here's the sweet boy...

2 Month Stats:

Weight: 10 lb, 11 oz (12%)
Height: 26 in (8%)

Mother's Day

After church on Mother's Day, we had my parent's over for lunch.  We did a few Ina Garten recipes and, man, they were good! If you're interested, here they are:

Tequila Citrus Chicken
Corn & Avocado Salsa
Bittersweet Chocolate Mousse

I got the sweetest gift from my girls...handmade cards and Hershey's Hugs and Kisses.  So awesome. I also got to take a nap, which was equally as awesome:) We went for a walk after naps, and that's the only time I took any pictures all day.  Slacker, I know.

soccer - week 4

We're halfway and it's still a struggle to get Kate out there to play each week.  She loves to kick the ball around at home and has lots of fun, but something about being on the field with her team is different.  Once she finally gets out there and runs around, she always has fun!

Tulip Time 2016

Tulips, tulips everywhere! We had a fun Saturday afternoon and evening at Tulip Time in Holland this spring.  It's always fun to see the Dutch dancers and visit the Peanut Store.

Uncle Andy's visit

My brother, Andy, was in town for a gathering at Western Theological Seminary in April.  We got to see him on Monday afternoon/evening, and again on Thursday night for dinner.  The girls had so much fun playing outside with Uncle Andy - he pushed Liv all over in the Cozy Coupe and she  was laughing uncontrollably.  Will was happy to meet Uncle Andy, too:)

Thursday night we celebrated (a little early) Andy's 30th birthday with dinner at HopCat and ice cream at the Downtown Market.  Such a fun week!
