Firehaus Reunion 2012

Matt also lived with a pretty great group of friends at Hope.  They're all spread out now too (Iowa to North Carolina to Michigan), but they've made a point of getting together every few years.  Two years ago, we met up at Brian and Jill's house in Traverse City, and they were gracious enough to host all of us again this year.

2010: 14 adults,  0 babies

2012: 15 adults, 5 babies (all under 1!)

We had such an amazing weekend together.  Jill (and Brian) did an incredible job of planning food, sleeping arrangements and entertainment to keep us busy.  The boys completed a Man Challenge all day Saturday, and the girls made it out for a walk and a trip to the beach.  Who knew getting so many babies all ready at the same time would be so hard! We spent most of the weekend just hanging out and talking and we couldn't have asked for anything better.  These are friendships that will last a lifetime and I'm so glad everyone took the time to make this weekend happen.  Between all of us there were nearly 400 pictures, so get ready to experience our weekend through pictures:)

Lincoln and Kate are best buddies:)

The 2012 Man Challenge included bocce, golf, bags, volleyball, and (of course?) digging an old telephone pole out of the lake!

Neal was the winner of this year's Man Challenge

We rounded out the weekend with lots of playing, Olympics-watching, and badminton fun before everyone headed out.

the next generation of Hope College grads?
Matt and I were so thankful to be able to stay another night with Brian, Jill and Lincoln before we went to Boyne for the rest of the week.  Time with them never ceases to be a blast and, because it never happens often enough, we appreciate it so much whenever it does.  Thanks to the Hammers for a great weekend - we can't wait to do it again!
